Cook County Busted Mugshots is a private reference service, not a government office. We cannot confirm a person’s custody or release, release anyone, post bond, or pull an official booking record. Direct those requests to the record custodian or court identified below.

Official Cook County Contacts

The Cook County Sheriff’s Office operates from the Cook County Law Enforcement Center. The Sheriff Records Division is the proper local contact for releasable Sheriff records, including a targeted booking-record or booking-photo request. The records page says requests may be made in person, by phone, mail, or email at any time. It does not publish a separate booking-photo email address, so use the official records route rather than an assumed address.

Cook County Public Data Request form

The form allows a requester to choose inspection, copies, or both. Inspection is free. Copy costs may apply when the cost exceeds $10, and the county says Records responds as soon as reasonably possible, not on a guaranteed deadline. Ask for a fee estimate before requesting a large record set or image copies.

Court Case and Warrant Procedure

For a Cook County case, hearing, or the procedure for a possible warrant, contact Cook County District Court. The court record can be different from a jail record, and a booking is an accusation rather than a final court outcome.

Choose the Right Official Route

Custody systems cover different stages. A person in the local jail may appear on the dated official roster. A person who has left the local facility, transferred, or has a court case may require a records request or court search instead. State and federal custody use separate locators.
